In 2019, only the students of the 11th form will be awarded the state final attestation on the technology of GIE as well as students of higher educational establishments (colleges and technical schools) and vocational education who will complete the general secondary education this year.

Pupils of the 9th form, as in previous years, will appear in the STA in writing (NOT in the form of GIE)

An appropriate explanation is provided by the Ministry of Education and Science today, January 10, 2019 in connection with the numerous appeals of pupils and their parents on passing the state final certification in the form of the Universal independent assessment

As previously reported by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Grinevich,

The launch of the GIE in the 9th grade is planned before the start of the senior New Ukranian school. According to the current calendar of reforms it is roughly after 2026-2027 academic year. In the case of graduates of the eleventh grade, then the results of the GIE will be counted as grades for the State final examination for the following subjects:

Ukrainian language and literature (part of the Ukrainian language) (required);

mathematics or history of Ukraine (period of XX - the beginning of the XXI century) (at the choice of the graduate);

one of the subjects on which the GIE is composed (on the choice of the graduate).

Students who choose a foreign language will be awarded the result of the GIE depending on Students of institutions of higher and vocational education will form the SFE in the form of an GIE only from two subjects:the level at which they studied the language. Ukrainian language and the choice of mathematics or history of Ukraine.
